In 2011, Fay spent Christmas doing an animation internship in Japan. Because she missed Christmas with her family, Erik and I made this game for her. That way she could get the experience of Christmas thousands of miles away and also quickly in between her busy schedule.

Kimono, Chibby Chan & the gang @ Shortcutz, Leidseplein, Amsterdam

Frederik de Groot was not the only star at last night's Shortcutz on Leidse Plein in Amsterdam. Getting down with the beautiful people were Kimono, Chibby Chan, Erik van Wees, Claudio Sanzana, Fay Heady & Molly Carroll with a viewing of 'Kimono & Chibby Chan in Flashback' on the big screen. This is the triumphant return of Warp Zone: A Free Jam in Amsterdam! Coming to you once again at the historical Vondelbunker bomb shelter, we hope that this year's 24-hour game jam will be even more awesome than the last!

Last year, this year and every year to follow, the Warp Zone Free Jam in Amsterdam is 100% free!

The Global Game Jam is an annual gathering of game developers for the purpose of planning, designing, and creating games all over the world within a short span of time. Game developers, programmers, game designers, artists, musicians and others in game development-related fields are all welcome! And if you just wanna hang out and party, that's ok too! Bring your friends, let's party!

Warp Zone: A Free Jam in Amsterdam 2015

Hello all you crazy game devs!

Participate in the world-famous Global Game Jam FOR FREE!

What you will need to bring:

- Food and drink. There will be a bar where drinks and beer can be purchased through the evening. There are also some snack bars in the neighborhood. It is advised, however, that you bring your own food and drink. If you can, bring stuff to share. We're in this together. ;)

- Bedding (sleeping bag, blanket, pillow, etc). Not that you will be sleeping much but the bunker can get cold at night. Make sure you're warm enough!

- Toiletries (Toothbrush, toothpaste, deo). Unless you can't be arsed. We won't judge. ;)

- Laptop, adapter, any additional equipment, things to make games with

- A positive attitude. Fun people only! ;P

We will provide work-space, internet, electricity, plugs tables and chairs. There will also be a bar with soft-drinks and beer.

Warp Zone Art Show 2014 (pictures!)

The opening of the Warp Zone Art Show last night was a roaring success! Even more art, music and fun than last year and will hopefully continue to grow strong!  In just one year we have grown into not only an art show but also as part of the Global Game Jam and a TV show. We're very proud of how far we've come in just one year. We'll continue to work hard and bring awesome video gamey goodness to Amsterdam and the world. :)

Thanks everyone who attended our opening night! Don't forget that the art will be on display for a whole week. If you couldn't make it last night or you regret not buying one of our fantastic pieces of artwork you are welcome to drop past all week!

 Next Sunday (14th of September) we will be hosting Warp Zone: Cutscene at the Nieuwe Anita. This is our annual mini-film festival of video game related shows and movies. Instead of our originally planned schedule we will be showing Angry Video Game Nerd: the Movie! Now's your chance to see the film on a big screen for free! Showing from 19:00-21:00. PS: After the film, The Free Fringe Festival closing party will begin so the party continues! :)
